Display Competition 2010

The ‘Discover the Origin’ campaign, in association with The Drinks Business, is proud to launch the Best Independent Retailer/Off Licence Display competition. The campaign aims to raise awareness around the importance of provenance using five key European PDO products: Burgundy wines, Port and Douro Valley wines, alongside Parma Ham and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese.


The competition will reward the specialist retailer demonstrating the best window and in-store display with the trip of a lifetime to Burgundy or the Douro. Finalists will be featured in the leading drinks publication, The Drinks Business, along with pictures of the owner or manager and their store. Through the competition, ‘Discover the Origin’ aims to support the independent wine trade industry and reward creativity whilst boosting entrants’ bottom line results.

The competition aims to drive customers to independent stores through effective in-store displays throughout 2010. To enter, you will need to use a range of posters, neck tags and shelf barkers provided by Discover the Origin. As soon as you register your interest in taking part (by filling in the form below), the Discover the Origin team will send these materials along with information packs, which will guide you through the next stage of the competition.

Who can enter?

If you wish to raise your profile and drive sales then entering the competition is a great opportunity, whilst also raising your knowledge on the ‘Discover the Origin’ regions and produce.

To enter, you must be 18 years or older and be the owner or manager or employee of an independent wine store.

Judging

The first stage of the Competition is to submit the entry form. Once you receive your information pack together with the Discover the Origin POS materials, you will be able to dress your shop. You will need to submit photographs of how you have presented the materials inside and/or outside your shop, via the window display.

Our expert judges will select the winning store based on the photos submitted by 23 April 2010. The Judges will be looking for creative and striking examples of displaying the materials that give prominence to the products. The final element of the competition is to complete an evaluation form, which you will need to submit by 23 April 2010 in order to be eligible for the prize. The winning store will then be announced in May 2010 at the London International Wine Fair.
